The UT Knoxville School of Music will present a Community Sing of the three-part arrangement of Handel’s Messiah, on Sunday, April 15. The free 4:00 p.m. event will be in the Alumni Memorial Building’s Cox Auditorium. The public is invited to join the UT Chamber Singers and Concert Choir in singing many of Handel’s beloved arias and choruses, accompanied by the UT Chamber Orchestra.
Vocalists from the School of Music will perform several solos. Angela Batey, interim director of the School of Music and director of choral activities, will be conducting. Singers who own a Messiah music score are encouraged to bring it. A limited number of scores will be available for sale at the door for $20. Proceeds will benefit School of Music scholarships.
