The Office of Research is hosting a presentation to students and faculty by Lieutenant General Patrick O’Reilly, director of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, September, 19, in Dougherty Hall room 612. The presentation will focus on MDA’s mission and career opportunities.

As director of MDA, O’Reilly oversees the agency’s worldwide mission to develop a capability to defend against ballistic missile attacks. During his career he has served in both command and staff officer positions in a variety of operational units, including the 1st Cavalry Division, and as an assistant professor of physics at the United States Military Academy. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and has master’s degrees in physics, national security and strategic studies, and business.

MDA is a research, development, and acquisition agency within the Department of Defense. MDA seeks to develop, test, and field an integrated ballistic missile defense system that protects the U.S., our forward deployed forces, and our friends and allies from hostile ballistic missile attack.
