KNOXVILLE—The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has been rated a “best buy” school in the 2012 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges, which reviews colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain.

UT Knoxville was one of twenty-five public universities to be ranked as a “best buy” in the publication released this week. Schools with this ranking combine high academic standards, inexpensive or moderate prices, and high quality of student life on campus.

“As the only major public university in Tennessee, UT comes close to being all things to all students,” according to the publication, with strong academic programs in fields such as business, architecture, accounting, and engineering, financial aid opportunities that help reduce the cost of a degree, and numerous ways for students to get involved on campus and in the larger community.
