The top three candidates for the associate vice chancellor for Facilities Services will visit campus beginning this week to participate in open forums with the campus community. Each forum will take place from 3:30 to 4:40 p.m. in the Haslam Business Building West Wing, room 440.
Thomas Quasney is the associate vice president for facilities at the University of South Carolina. He will speak Thursday, July 21. Quasney has more than twenty-nine years of experience in facilities management, including twenty-six years as a facilities officer in the United States Air Force. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in management from Florida State University.
Robert Wells is the chief facilities officer at Clemson University. He will speak Monday, July 25. Wells has nineteen years of experience in higher education facilities management at Clemson University and at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois.
Dave Irvin is the associate vice chancellor for plant operations at the University of Houston and the University of Houston System. He will speak Monday, August 1. Irvin has thirty years of senior management experience in university facilities and maintenance. Other university posts include the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and Emporia State University in Kansas. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture studies from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He conducted graduate work in architecture, planning, and design at Oxford University in England, and master’s work in architecture, construction engineering, and planning at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
