The Office of Information Technology will be making infrastructure improvements during the last weekend of the university’s Spring Break. Beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, March 18, until early Sunday, March 20, several core services used by faculty and staff will be impacted by the outage.

Specific programs that will be affected during the planned outage include but are not limited to online registration, advising and financial services through MyUTK (Banner and Circle Park Online), TStorage, IRIS, SharePoint, Office Communications Server (OCS), OIT UNIX systems and access to Digital Media Services and online Web streaming.

Online@UT (Blackboard) will be available, but from an alternate website, https://blackboard.utk.edu/webapps/login/.

Many Web pages hosted by the utk.edu and tennessee.edu domains, including most departmental sites, the OIT website and personal Web pages, may also be offline. The Web page for changing your password will not be available, nor will the university’s online faculty, staff and student directory.

The upgrade also will impact the wired and wireless network access in many campus buildings. A few campus buildings also will be without telephone and voice mail service. A list of buildings affected is available online at http://oit.utk.edu/helpdesk/kb/entry/1809/.

OIT apologizes for any inconvenience this planned outage may cause. Their goal is to restore all programs and services on Sunday, March 20. If you have specific questions or concerns about the project and how it will impact your services or your department, please contact the OIT HelpDesk at 865-974-9900 or online at http://help.utk.edu.
