KNOXVILLE — Faculty have been invited to attend an interactive luncheon today as part of Faculty Appreciation Week at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Faculty and staff also can purchase discount tickets to tonight’s Lady Vols game vs. South Carolina. For $7 tickets, visit www.uttix.com. Click on “Lady Vols Tix” and then choose “Promotional Code.” Log in with UTEMPLOYEE. Complete the order. There is a $1.25 processing fee.

Just like last night’s Vols game, tonight’s Lady Vols game will feature some special thank you messages to the faculty members who serve as mentors to some of the student-athletes.

Today’s Faculty Appreciation Week stories focus on assistant professors Tahirah Akbar-Williams and Melanie Feltner-Reichert of UT Libraries; Assistant Professor Allie Brown and Instructor Lynne Miller in the College of Nursing; and Jay Whelan, nutrition department head, and Bobbi Clarke, professor of community health education and UT Extension health specialist.

Today’s video features alumna Nancy-Anne DeParle, President Barack Obama’s deputy chief of staff, reminiscing about her favorite UT faculty.
