Rob HellerFor some Tennesseans, the Holocaust is more than a tragic chapter of history; it is a personal journey of pain and survival.

The stories of these men and women will be the subject of a lecture at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in Hodges Library auditorium.

Rob Heller, associate professor of journalism and electronic media, will share his work with Holocaust survivors in a presentation entitled "Living On: Portraits of Tennessee Survivors and Liberators."

The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Parking for this event is available for a fee in the University Center garage.

Heller has spent five years working with the Tennessee Holocaust Commission to record the stories of local Holocaust survivors. The photographs, personal interviews and stories he gathered affected his own life, and have been seen by more than 10,000 Tennesseans. UT Press also has published a book about Heller’s research.
