Transportation Services is raising the cost of gas while placing a cap on the amount of gas purchased from the motor pool.
Because of the hurricane-related uncertainty of fuel supply, adjustments are necessary to help maintain fuel supply and cover the temporary increase in gas costs. Fuel was delivered to the motor pool two weeks ago, but the supplier cannot guarantee when the next fuel delivery will take place.
Increases are as follows:
- 6 cents per mile or $50 per month for mini vans and sedans
- 12 cents per mile or $80 per month for duty trucks
- 15 cents per mile or $110 per month for police cruisers and larger trucks
All UT passenger cars, vans and trucks will be limited to 10 gallons of fuel, and all UT dump trucks and large-body/box trucks will be limited to 15 gallons of fuel.
No restrictions will be placed on police vehicles at this time.
