Map of Kingston Pike Building

Information Technology has a new home in the Kingston Pike Building, and UT Knoxville faculty and staff can take a peek next Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Kingston Pike Building – formerly known as Metron Center –is located at 2309 Kingston Pike, next to Tyson Park. Parking will be available for the open house, and the Orange Line Trolley also stops directly in front of the building.

The new facility houses IT units ranging from the Innovative Technology Center to the IT Security Division. UT Vice President for Information Technology Jesse Poore says that bringing these units under one roof is beginning to show some benefits.

"We look forward to welcoming members of the campus community to our new facility," said Poore. "I especially appreciate the hard work of our staff to make a smooth transition."

The open house will feature building tours, free refreshments and the chance to interact with staff and learn more about the work of IT and ITC.

"We have a great training room here," said Jean Derco, director of ITC. "Our new location gives us some unique new opportunities to help enhance the educational experience across campus."

For those interested in viewing the public forums for visiting chancellor candidates taking place that afternoon, IT will provide a Web cast of the event, available for viewing at the Kingston Pike Building.
