Demetrius Richmond, a UT higher education administration program doctoral student from Memphis, was nominated by U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters to serve as one of her representatives at the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C. The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation hosted the Annual Legislative Conference last week, and Richmond represented Waters, D-Calif., at the conference’s Emerging Leaders Empowerment Series. Richmond has worked as a graduate assistant in Minority Student Affairs the past two years.
