NASHVILLE – The Advancement and Outreach Council of the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will meet here at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 4, in Suite 4 of the Sheraton Downtown Hotel.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss UT funding priorities for the 2002 legislative session.

The agenda and scheduled speakers for the meeting include:

1:30 p.m. – Welcome and Opening Comments, Scooter Clippard, vice chair of the council.

1:45 p.m. – Overview of UT Legislative Priorities and Strategy, UT Acting President Eli Fly and Tom Ballard, vice president for public and governmental relations.

2:15 p.m. – Administrative Perspective on 2002 Legislative Session, Alex Fischer, deputy to the Governor and chief of staff.

2:30 p.m. – Legislative Perspective on 2002 Legislative Session, House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh and Lt. Gov. John Wilder.

3 p.m. – Constitutional Officers Perspective on the 2002 Legislative Session, State Treasurer Steve Adams, Secretary of State Riley Darnell and State Treasurer John Morgan.

3:30 p.m. – General Discussion.

4:30 p.m. – Adjournment.

6 p.m. – Gov. Don Sundquist’s “State of the State” speech at the House Chamber in the State Capitol.
