“The University community is deeply saddened by the devastating acts of terrorism that have occurred in our nation-s capital and other locations. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
“In view of these events, I am taking this means to assure you that at this time, no programs or functions at UT have been threatened or appear to be at risk. Accordingly, barring future developments, it is my intent to continue most University activities including our classes as scheduled.
“Please know that UT has an Emergency Preparedness Plan. While it does not anticipate events of this magnitude, we stand ready to implement it in the unlikely event that future occurrences necessitate a change in our position. We will continue to communicate through the local media and email when possible.”
