KNOXVILLE — One of the healthcare industry’s most successful marketers will speak Nov. 10 at the University of Tennessee School of Journalism’s Public Relations Day 2000.

Kathleen Larey Lewton, senior vice president of Fleishman-Hillard-s New York Healthcare Group, will talk on “Making the Message Meaningful: Lessons Learned from the Chaotic World of Healthcare” at noon in the University Center Ballroom.

Lewton, who will chair the Public Relations Society of America beginning January 2001, has more than 20 years of experience in health care public relations and marketing. PR Reporter cited Lewton as one of the four most admired professionals in health care public relations and Working Woman magazine has profiled her as one of the -key people making news in hospital marketing.-

PR day also will feature sessions on management, healthcare, and student interests. Participants may attend a panel discussion concerning ethics, and students can have their resumes critiqued by professionals.

Other event sponsors are the Volunteer Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and the Sammie Lynn Puett Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America.
