Knoxville — The University of Tennessee’s fall schedule of classes begins next week.
The director of housing said Thursday there’s plenty of available dormitory space for incoming students.
“This year we anticipate being able to house all students who need housing on campus,” said Jim Grubbs. “We don’t have a shortage of housing and we expect to be able to accomodate everyone.”
Last fall, some incoming freshmen were unable to get dorm rooms, and had to rent off-campus apartments.
Grubb said students can begin moving in to the dorms at 8 a.m., Saturday August 19.
“We’ll open the doors and students can begin moving in any time, day or night,” Grubb said, “but they must claim their rooms by 12 p.m. on Wednesday August 23.”
About 6800 students are registered to live on campus this fall.
