MARTIN, Tenn. – High School students and parents are invited to a special University of Tennessee at Martin Night Tuesday, Jan. 11 at Dyersburg High School.

Informal receptions are planned for halftime of the girls- basketball game and in between the girls and boys game which pits host Dyersburg against neighboring Halls High School. Tipoff for the girls game is set for 6:30 p.m.

UT Martin-s pompon squad will also perform during the basketball games.

Prospective UT Martin students and their parents will have a chance to learn about financial aid deadlines and cost. They can talk about college plans with representatives from admissions, housing, ROTC, athletics, employment information, honors programs and academic departments.

-Anyone that-s interested in UT Martin is certainly invited,- said Judy Rayburn, director of admissions at UT Martin. -We specifically would like to invite the juniors and seniors and their parents and grandparents.-

Rayburn said attending the UT Martin Night reception is almost like coming to campus. -We certainly encourage students to come and visit us at Martin, but we will have representatives at the receptions from the academic areas and athletics,- she said.

UT Martin-s new head football coach Sam McCorkle, along with men-s head basketball coach Bret Campbell and women-s co-head coaches Gary and Kim Van Atta, is planning to attend the receptions.
