Knoxville — The UT Institute of Agriculture will teach its first completely online, realtime class this spring.

Dr. Joanne Logan will teach the class on bioclimatology.

“We’re using a program called Center Symposium,” Logan said. “The idea is that students will sit down at a multi-media computer with an Internet connection, and using a $12 headset, can participate in class.”

The Center Symposium program features little “hands” on the side of the screen, so students can raise their hands during the lecture if they have a question.

The class can be taken by students on or off campus.
