Richard L. Bayer, registrar at the University of South Carolina, will become dean of admissions and records at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville March 1.

Dr. John Peters, vice chancellor for academic affairs, said Bayer will have responsibility for the admissions, financial aid and registrar’s offices at UT-Knoxville. Bayer succeeds Dr. Susie Archer who accepted a position at Vanderbilt University.

Bayer has been at South Carolina since 1994 and was previously registrar at George Mason University. He earned the bachelor’s degree from the University of Buffalo and the master’s from Niagara University.
