TULLAHOMA, Tenn. — Garry Coleman, faculty member at the University of Tennessee Space Institute, has been named to the Tennessee Quality Awards board of examiners.

Coleman, UTSI assistant professor of industrial engineering, and other examiners review applications for the awards, which honor state organizations that demonstrate high levels of performance.

The awards program was established in 1993 to promote economic development by helping Tennessee companies become more competitive. They are patterned after the U.S.

Department of Commerce’s Malcolm Baldridge Quality Awards. Coleman and the other examiners take a course before judging entries.
