KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge National Laboratory Distinguished Scientist has won an award from the local chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

 Dr. Peter Cummings received the group’s 1998 Research Achievement Award at its meeting here Tuesday.

Cummings’ research focuses on fundamental properties of fluids and the molecular structure of aqueous solutions. He holds a joint appointment with the ORNL chemical technology division and UT-Knoxville chemical engineering department.
