KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville will host its annual Engineers Day Oct. 24.

Brion Randolph, a UT-Knoxville nuclear engineering graduate assistant and Engineers Day coordinator, said the event annually draws about 1,000 high school students and their parents.

The activities and workshops inform the public about the role of engineers in society, encourage students to learn more about engineering careers, and outlines what UT-Knoxville has to offer, Randolph said.

Activities include a quiz bowl competition to test teams from different schools on their knowledge of math and science. There’ll also be exhibits and workshops.

Activities begin at 10 a.m. with an opening session at Alumni Memorial Building.

Information on students applications, financial aid and pursuing an engineering degree at UT-Knoxville will be available.
