Just in time for the new academic year, the UT Police Department has launched new initiatives to enhance safety by keeping the campus and surrounding community more informed. The new efforts include an anonymous tip service and improved efforts to share information about UTPD’s enforcement and prevention activities.

UT Assistant Chief of Police Deborah Perry retires today after thirty-two years of service to the university. She has served as a patrol officer, detective, assistant chief, and interim chief of police for UTPD. She also worked for Parking and Transit Services for several years.
Troy Lane was officially sworn as the new chief of police at UT this morning.
