Football fans will be able to learn more about the meteorite presence in Antarctica during UT’s Pregame Showcase at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14. Devon Burr, associate professor of earth and planetary science, will present “Searching for Extraterrestrial Rocks in Antarctica” before the UT Homecoming game against North Texas.
David Anderson, a professor of anthropology, will present “Recent Developments in Southeastern Archaeology” during UT’s Pregame Showcase on November 7.
Movies, romance, and the work of actor John Cusack will be in the spotlight at the Pregame Showcase prior to the Vols’ game against Arkansas on Saturday, October 3.
Margaret Lazarus Dean, associate professor of English, will present “Leaving Orbit: Notes from the Last Days of American Spaceflight” at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, prior to the UT vs. Western Carolina game.

It’s football time in Tennessee and the kickoff of another game day tradition: the Pregame Showcase. Football fans are invited to hear from some of UT’s exceptional faculty during the twenty-sixth annual College of Arts and Sciences Pregame Showcase, which begins Saturday, September 12.
Twenty-five years ago Lynn Champion, director of communications for the College of Arts and Sciences, founded a lecture series before home football games featuring talks by faculty from the college. From 1989 through 2014, Champion organized and staffed the Pregame Showcase, never missing a lecture.
