UT’s Ken and Blaire Mossman Building has been selected as an outstanding design in the 2019 American School & University Educational Interiors Showcase, which honors excellence in educational interiors. The building will be featured in the August issue of American School & University.
UT has been honored for its efforts to beautify campus by the 2019 Orchid Awards, a Keep Knoxville Beautiful program that celebrates Knoxville and Knox County’s most attractive properties.
The campus celebrated the late Ken and Blaire Mossman on Friday with the official opening of the Ken and Blaire Mossman Building and the fourth annual Mossman Distinguished Lecture, featuring Adam Savage of MythBusters fame.
Interim Chancellor Wayne T. Davis will celebrate the opening of the Ken and Blaire Mossman Building at 3:30 p.m. today. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the ceremony in the building’s atrium.
Adam Savage, special effects designer for Hollywood films and former MythBusters co-host and producer, will deliver the fourth annual Mossman Lecture.

UT’s innovative Strong Hall, the university’s first general classroom and lab building in many years, is among several new additions and upgrades awaiting the campus community for the new academic year. The building opened for summer classes in June.

The university took a big step forward Thursday by breaking ground on the Mossman Building, a state-of-the-art laboratory and classroom facility scheduled to open by fall 2018.
