Changes to Retirement Plans for New Hires Take Effect July 2014
Some large-scale changes to the retirement plans administered by the State of Tennessee and offered to UT employees will take effect on July 1. The changes will not impact existing UT employees. But all faculty and staff involved in recruiting and hiring new employees should understand the changes.

Enroll in the Sick Leave Bank
The university’s Sick Leave Bank provides members who are experiencing serious illnesses or injuries an opportunity to request additional paid leave from the bank after exhausting all accrued personal leave. The enrollment period opened this week and ends on Monday, June 30.
University Increases Minimum Starting Pay Rate
The university has announced a plan to increase the system-wide minimum pay rate for regular full- and part-time employees to $9.00 an hour effective January 1. 2013 Staff Performance Reviews
A number of resources are available to assist supervisors and staff with performance reviews, including an e-learning class developed especially for UT. Several open enrollment training sessions have been scheduled between now and early March. Supervisors are encouraged to attend a training session.
