Information Sciences Professor Dania Bilal of UT’s College of Communication and Information is receiving a national award for her outstanding contributions to information behavior research.
The School of Information Sciences in the College of Communication and Information has received two grants which total more than $850,000 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to train information science experts.
With the start of the academic year, nine new department heads have now taken their posts.
Dania Bilal, professor of information science, and Ed Caudill, journalism professor, are faculty trailblazers in the College of Communication and Information.
Dania Bilal, a professor of information sciences, has received a Google Research Award to further her work on how children read and assess the readability of Google’s search results pages. One of the goals of this research is to modify Google’s Reading Level measure. Bilal will receive $41,363 from Google.
