The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is listed by Forbes Magazine as one of the nation’s best employers for new graduates, according to the 2024 rankings published May 21. This marks the fourth year in a row that UT has earned the distinction.

“Receiving this award is a testament to UT’s commitment to fostering talent and providing growth opportunities. We believe in creating a supportive and dynamic environment where young professionals can thrive, contribute meaningfully, and build fulfilling careers,” said Tarah Keeler, interim associate vice chancellor for human resources. “This recognition reaffirms our dedication to attracting top talent and creating a workplace where everyone can develop professionally within our university.”

The best employers for new graduates were identified by Forbes and market research company Statista through a comprehensive survey that canvased more than 100,000 young professionals in companies with at least 1,000 people working within the U.S. Respondents evaluated their employer on criteria including atmosphere, salary, image, diversity, working conditions and overall workplace environment. More than 2 million employer evaluations were considered, with the top 400 receiving recognition as a best employer for new graduates.

This year the university was also recognized by Forbes as one of America’s best large employers. In 2023, Forbes ranked UT as one of America’s top colleges and one of the country’s best large employers as well as a best employer for new graduates.
