Chancellor Donde Plowman of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, joined Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon to thank members of the city’s public service crew for their work preparing Fort Sanders and surrounding neighborhoods for the return of students to campus.

In anticipation of the fall semester, crews assigned to the area completed a thorough sweeping on north- and southbound streets in Fort Sanders July 30. The following weekend, on August 7, east- and westbound streets were cleaned.

Students living in the neighborhood should check the City of Knoxville website for the street sweeping schedule.

As students return to campus and the surrounding community ahead of the fall semester, the university is encouraging everyone to do their part to keep the city clean and safe. Campus move-in will begin August 14 with classes starting August 24.
