Each year the Volunteer community joins together for Big Orange Give, UT’s annual day of giving. In this unconventional year, when that generosity and support are more relevant than ever, Big Orange Give is set to take place November 18 with a goal of raising $2.5 million in 24 hours to benefit UT students, faculty, and the campus community.

Last year, a total of 6,869 donors from around the world broke records by contributing to more than 400 individual funds. This year there will be opportunities for gifts to be doubled, dollar for dollar, thanks to the generosity of several match donors. Additionally, gifts made during Big Orange Give will count toward the Big Orange Family Campaign in the spring.

“Each year, the Volunteer community steps up with inspiring commitment to secure a vibrant future for Tennessee’s land-grant flagship university and those who live and learn here,” said Lauren Herbstritt, director of advancement for annual giving. “Donors can give to the areas of campus most meaningful to them, be those specific colleges or student-led organizations or the many cultural and learning centers housed at the university. A gift of any size can make a significant difference in the lives of UT students.”

Initiated in 2013, Big Orange Give has grown over the years, with an ever-increasing number of Volunteers participating in the annual day of giving as a fun and exciting option for supporting student scholarships, research, faculty, improvements to facilities, and other areas.
