Most Americans know little about the history or the significance of cricket in India. Lars Dzikus and Adam Love, both associate professors of kinesiology, recreation, and sport studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, have studied how this 18th-century colonial import grew into a revered—and lucrative—cultural institution.
