The Student Union is nearing completion, with the second phase of the building opening to the campus community Wednesday, January 2.

The Student Union will be the central location for hosting student organization meetings, departmental events, and other types of campus programming to enhance the educational experience.

Some of the spaces that will be available for use:

  • This venue will seat 999 people and offers an advanced and highly-functional programming venue.
  • This 12,000-square-foot space will accommodate up to 1,000 people. The flexible space contains the latest technology, moveable walls, and a high-quality sound system.
  • Tiered seminar room. The space will seat 100 people and will be outfitted with state-of-the-art technology that includes webcasting, confidence monitors, and microphone capabilities.
  • Executive dining room.
  • Meeting and conference rooms.

Details about each space are available on the Student Union website.

On February 4, Campus Event Services will launch Ad Astra, the new meeting and event scheduling system. This system will allow all campus community members to make room and space requests for locations across campus, including spaces within the Student Union.

Until that time, those wishing to make reservations can call 865-974-3451 with scheduling requests or questions and Student Union staff can reserve the space in Ad Astra.
