Matthew Theriot, who had been serving as the interim vice provost for faculty affairs and the associate provost for teaching and learning innovation, is now the associate provost for faculty development and strategic initiatives.

He will oversee Teaching and Learning Innovation, online programs, and faculty diversity initiatives. He also wil work on strategic initiatives assigned by the provost in consultation with the chancellor:

  • Helping lead the development and implementation of a plan to build the central campus infrastructure for e-learning and online programs
  • Coordinating faculty mentoring and support programs
  • Serving as the administration’s liaison with campus commissions and supporting commission activities
  • Working with faculty and campus leaders to develop and implement new diversity and engagement programs for faculty

In addition, he will oversee several significant programs and events:

  • Coordinating the SEC Academic Leadership Development Program and the campus Leadership Development Program
  • Hosting New Faculty Orientation, the Academic Leadership Retreat, and the Faculty Pub
