Three UT professors were honored Friday when state Representative Eddie Smith presented each of them with a resolution commending them for recent achievements.

Two of the professors—Daniel Simberloff, the Gore Hunger Professor of Environmental Studies, and David Mandrus, the Jerry and Kay Henry Endowed Professor in Materials Science and Engineering—were honored for being among the most highly cited researchers in the world. The third professor—Louis Gross, the James R. Cox and Alvin and Sally Beaman Distinguished Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Mathematics and the director of the Institute for Environmental Modeling—was honored for receiving the 2018 SEC Faculty Achievement Award.
