CBS Sunday Morning News will air a segment this weekend about the research of Henri Grissino-Mayer and his team of students to determine the age of a cabin that was the boyhood home of President Abraham Lincoln.
The story will air during the 9—10:30 a.m. show on Sunday, February 11.
The team is using dendrochronology, the science of dating tree rings, to determine the age of the cabin’s logs and to figure out when the cabin was built. As part of their research, team members took tiny core samples from the four walls of the site’s log cabin, which is located in Hodgenville, Kentucky.
Grissino-Mayer is a UT professor of geography.
