The Division of Student Life is welcoming two new staff members to the Student Life leadership team in January.
Shea Kidd Houze has been appointed as our assistant vice chancellor for student life and dean of students. She comes to UT from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she currently serves as the director of new student and retention programs. Her prior roles also include associate director for external affairs for the Southern Miss Alumni Association as well as coordinator of the First Scholars Program and a career advisor at the University of Memphis.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in speech communication from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Education in college student affairs administration from the University of Georgia, and a doctorate in educational psychology and research from the University of Memphis. She will joins UT at the beginning of January.
Chandra Myrick has been appointed the executive director of University Housing. She currently serves as the director for residential student experience and is a doctoral candidate at Florida State University. Her prior roles include associate and assistant director for residence life at Florida State University, complex director at Georgia State University, and residence hall director at the University of Georgia.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in print journalism and history from Troy State University and a Master of Science in higher education from Florida State University. She starts in late January.
