The campus community is invited to a sit-down with Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, editor and scholar, and honorary doctorate recipient Jon Meacham at 8 p.m. Thursday, December 14.

Jon Meacham“A Conversation with Jon Meacham” will be held in the Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall in the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center.

A native of Chattanooga, Meacham is currently the executive editor and executive vice president of Random House Publishing. He has been the editor of Newsweek and a writer for the New York Times and Washington Post. He is a fellow of the Society of American Historians and has served as a distinguished visiting professor of political science at Vanderbilt University.

Three of his five books have been number one on the New York Times best-seller list. He was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2009 for American Lion.

Meacham will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters during fall commencement. The ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, in Thompson-Boling Arena.
