In a ceremony on October 4 at the Student Union, Jim Duensing, chief financial officer of Caterpillar Financial Services, and Paul Shore, vice president of talent acquisition for Pilot Flying J, helped dedicate interview rooms named in honor of their respective companies within the university’s Center for Career Development.
“We are proud to be associated with UT, the quality it represents in higher education, and its commitment to preparing students for challenges and opportunities in the global business environment,” said Duensing. “We are pleased to be able to expand our partnership with the university through this sponsorship arrangement.”

Shore echoed the thought: “It was an honor for several members of our talent acquisition team be a part of the dedication of the Pilot Flying J Interview Room in support of the Career Development Center. We have a great relationship with UT and look forward to the continued partnership.”
The two interview rooms are part of the Alan and Wendy Wilson Career Development Suite on the top floor of the Student Union building. With its central location on campus and new facilities, the Center for Career Development has expanded its ability to serve students as they plan for their careers. The interview rooms provide better spaces to host employers from across the country to encourage them to recruit UT students.
“This dedication recognizes a recent commitment to the UT by both Cat Financial and Pilot Flying J,” said Stephanie Kit, director of the Center for Career Development, “in addition to the many other ways the companies have supported the university. Last year, more than 750 employers recruited on campus, conducting 3,500 interviews. Nearly 18,000 students used the Center for Career Development and its various services, including 70 percent of undergraduates.”
A limited number of recognition opportunities are still available in the center to businesses or individuals.
