Google search guru Dan Russell will present a free public lecture about online searching at 10 a.m. Monday, November 6, in the Scripps Convergence Lab Theater on the fourth floor of the Communications Building, 1345 Circle Park.

Hosted by UT’s School of Information Sciences, Russell’s lecture is titled “Search Is Not Yet a Solved Problem for Systems OR Searchers.” He will discuss how people use and think about search, and will look at the future of search and how it’s expected to evolve. Russell joined Google in 2005 and is now the company’s uber tech lead for search quality and user happiness. He currently teaches an online course called PowerSearchingWithGoogle.com. More than 3,000 learners each week take this course, and nearly 3.6 million students have attended his online search classes in the past two years.
