The Huffington Post recently featured an article examining five health benefits of forgiveness. The article highlighted research from UT, which showed that forgiveness is associated with a whole range of health measures that include sleep quality and fatigue.

The research found that the health benefits of forgiveness seem to come largely from its ability to reduce negative sleep affects such as feelings of tension, anger, depression and fatigue. With forgiveness, “the victim relinquishes ideas of revenge, and feels less hostile, angry, or upset about the experiences,” according to her 2005 study, which was published in the Journal of Behavioral Medicine.
