Daniel Feller, UT professor of history, this summer was a guest on Stewart Harris’s nationally syndicated NPR program, Your Weekly Constitutional. During a two-part interview series, Feller expounded on all things Andrew Jackson.

In the first interview, Feller addressed the comparisons that many have drawn between Andrew Jackson, the seventh US president, and Donald Trump, the current commander in chief. Feller discussed the validity of the comparisons and shed light on Jackson’s early life, his legal career, and his rise to prominence in the War of 1812.

Feller is editor of the Papers of Andrew Jackson, a project housed at UT.

In the second interview, Feller discussed how Jackson used his military victories to propel himself all the way to the White House.
