With the new fiscal year starting next week, UT Fleet Management has cut costs and updated its procedures for departments needing to rent vehicles.

For long-term vehicle rentals of four months or longer, Fleet Management has reduced its monthly lease rate by 14 percent and is introducing unlimited mileage. However, fuel is no longer included in the rental costs.

For vehicle rentals of less than four months, employees will need to use a new form available on the Fleet Management website. They must provide their valid driver’s license and UT personnel number in order to rent a vehicle.

Another change is that all vehicles now must be refueled at the fuel pumps behind the Fleet Management building on UT Drive upon return.

In the past, employees renting UT cars, minivans, SUVs, and other vehicles for official business returned their fuel receipts to Fleet Management. Now, employees need to give their receipts to their departmental business manager.

If an employee is involved in an accident while in a UT vehicle they are required to report the incident as soon as possible using a form on the Fleet Management website.
