On May 4, a muti-agency training scenario for active shooter response was held at Reese Hall. The scenario included UT Police Department, Knoxville Fire Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and American Medical Response.

The training session gave law enforcement personnel the opportunity to focus on how they would respond to an armed individual actively shooting while allowing medical services to provide immediate care to individuals in role playing scenarios.

The training allowed UTPD to work and coordinate successfully with surrounding partners in public safety and better prepare to respond to a large-scale event should it occur.
