Becoming a Data Scientist, a website, blog, and podcast devoted to the emerging field of big data and machine learning, recently provided some good publicity for UT’s Tickle College of Engineering.
Stephanie Rivera, a UT alumnus, was featured on a podcast on the site, discussing the possibilities that machine learning can open up and about the opportunities available to students that are unique to UT.
Rivera specifically talked about the influence electrical engineering and computer science professor Michael Langston had on her, noting that they once worked out a solution to a particular problem on the back of a fast food napkin over lunch.
Rivera also noted the important role that the Center for Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning can play for students coming to UT.
“There are just so many great options at UT,” said Rivera.
