The new Public Speaking Center in Room 260 of the College of Communication and Information held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, November 2.
Funding to create the Public Speaking Center was provided in part by a gift from football great Peyton Manning, who graduated with his bachelor’s degree in communication studies in 1997 and received the college’s Hileman Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007. The center is an example of how funds raised for the College of Communication and Information campaign are helping to provide state-of-the-art facilities for UT students. The college will launch the public phase of its $15 million Investing in the Journey to the Top campaign on November 11.
