The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture at UT, has teamed up with the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program as a toy drop-off site this holiday season.

From November 1—30, university and local community members are encouraged to help a child in need by donating a new, unwrapped gift or by purchasing a new toy from the Museum Store for donation. Donations will be accepted in the Museum Store during museum hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

All Toys for Tots donors will receive their choice of a coupon for $5 off their next purchase in the McClung Museum Store or a free gift.

Toys for Tots is a national charitable program run by the US Marine Corps Reserve that helps provide happiness and hope to disadvantaged children at Christmas since 1947. From October to December every year, members of the Marine Forces Reserve, Marine Corps League of veterans, and local community organizations collect toys, books, and other gifts for less fortunate children in more than 700 communities across all 50 states. Donated items are distributed to the less fortunate children with the help of local welfare agencies, churches, and other community groups. Last year the Marine Corps fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7.2 million children. Since its founding, over 209 million children have been assisted.
