The Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy has released its schedule of events for November.
- November 1–3—Early Voting, Knox County Election Commission, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. in the Toyota Auditorium. Open to all Knox County registered voters.
- November 8—Election Day, precinct 10S and 10W voting in the Toyota Auditorium.
- November 17—Zhao Ma, Energy and Environmental Forum, “Forest Management within the Context of Environmental Change,” 1–2:30 p.m. in the Toyota Auditorium. Ma is an associate professor of forestry and natural resources at Purdue University.
- November 21—Renato Cruz de Castro, Global Security Lecture, “The South China Sea Dispute: US-Philippines-China Security Relations,” 5:30 p.m. in the Toyota Auditorium. Castro is a senior professor of international studies at De La Salle University in the Philippines.
- November 29—Matt Buehler, Global Security Lecture, 12:30–1:30 p.m. in the Baker Center Room 205. Buehler is a Baker Center Global Security Fellow. Buehler and Mehdi Ayari, graduate teaching assistant in political science, will present “Opening the Black Box of Authoritarian Coalitions: Minister Retention and Tunisia’s Autocratic Ruling Elite.”
All events and lectures are free and open to the public. The Baker Center is a nonpartisan institute devoted to education and research concerning public policy and civic engagement.
