Thirty-day challenges are all the rage right now, whether it’s to lose weight, save money, or make some other personal improvement. Clarence Brown Theatre artist-in-residence Jillie Eves recently committed to her own challenge: thirty Knoxville paintings in thirty days.
“About two years ago I started listening to the podcast Artist Helping Artist,” said Eves. “The host, Leslie Saeta, started the Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge every January and September.” Eves said the host stressed that the challenge is not about finishing 30 gallery-quality “perfect” paintings. It’s about getting into the studio to try new things, paint more often, have fun, and develop new habits.
The Knoxville News Sentinel recently featured Eves and her thirty-day challenge. The finished pieces from the challenge will be exhibited at Liz-Beth & Co. and have already attracted inquiries via Eves’ personal website.
