WVLT-TV Local 8 Now and the Daily Beacon featured an essay by Marilyn Kallet, UT professor of English and a poet. Her essay is in response to crises that have occurred in the nation and the world.

Kallet was seated in an airplane in New York during 9/11 and also in Paris when terrorists killed hostages in a theater. She held a poetry reading in Paris just days after the terror attack and was left speechless by the response to her reading. These events prompted her to write poetry addressing many of life’s twists and turmoils.
