Nature Materials released a study on a type of material that could have a major impact on electronics.
Weyl semimetals are a type of substance that contain what are known as Weyl fermions, a type of particle with unique properties.
The article focused on research led by Iowa State University and The Ohio State University which showed evidence that such particles can exist in a semi-metallic state, which would increase their usability in devices.
As part of the research, UT’s Jiaqiang Yan, a research professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, supplied high quality single crystals necessary for the study.
