The Public Risk Management Association recently honored Jarret with the Public Risk Magazine Article of the Year for his article Overzealous Zoning: Challenges for the Public Risk Manager. The organization also named him the Public Risk Author of the Year.
The Public Risk Management Association is a national organization dedicated to the practice of risk management in the public sector. Members coordinate risk management, purchase insurance, manage human resources, administrate safety and environmental programs, manage labor issues, and handle parks and recreation programs.
Jarret is a Tennessee attorney, federal district court mediator and arbitrator, and Rule 31 listed civil mediator who has been practicing public sector law for more than twenty-two years. He has served as chief legal counsel for three public entities and has practiced before the Tennessee Supreme Court, federal courts, and lower state courts in Tennessee and Florida.
