New faculty who will teach undergraduate and graduate courses are invited them to attend the New Faculty Teaching Institute. The workshop is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, August 3-5. For more information, e-mail tenntlc@utk.edu.
More than seventy participants attend this workshop each year. The institute orients faculty to the university’s student demographics, teaching policies, and support offices, and facilitates faculty community-building within and across disciplines.
Changes this year include a two-day format with an optional third day of facilitated work on their courses, a new session on “Gen Z,” the newly formatted accessible syllabus template, and an introduction to Canvas by OIT, the new learning management system.
